READY BOOST

The best way to increase the performance of your PC’is to increase the RAM(Random access memory) of your computer setup. However, adding additional RAM is costly and you have to also make sure that you purchase the correct type of Ram, as well as making sure you have enough empty memory slots to place the RAM into.
To overcome all this, Microsoft have introduced a new feature in windows vista and windows 7 called ReadyBoost. It allows you to use USB flash memory device as a cache or virtual memory. Although we can can not say that it works like a RAM  but yes it still delivers a performance better than caching of your hard disk. The USB flash memory acts as a fast store for frequently accessed data and it’s about ten times faster than accessing the same data from the hard drive.
The most important part of ready boost is to buying a USB flash memory device that is Readyboost compatible. The old USB devices are generally not compatible because they are very slow, and even a some of the new USB also not compatible. So at the time of purchasing you have to ensure that you are buying a Readyboost compatible USB.
